An intimate mountain retreat experience.
AUGUST 28-30, 2026
Betty Bear Hut | Basalt, CO
This hut trip blends guided mountain running with community building, high quality nutrition, and performance coaching & education.
The Trail Running Retreat takes place deep in the Colorado Rockies, based out of a secluded 10th Mountain Division Hut along the Continental Divide. Three days of guided running on some of the most striking alpine terrain in North America. Participants are supported by local guides, a private chef and a performance coach.
Food, drinks, guide fees, hut access, and local transportation are included.
All participants bring is the fitness and the focus.
WHY THIS IS DIFFERENT
This is performance education in the field.
- 12-person maximum: Intentionally intimate. Every athlete gets coached, seen, and challenged.
- Strength-integrated: Most trail retreats ignore strength. APL’s programming builds strength, mobility, and running mechanics alongside the miles.
- Chef-driven nutrition: With a private chef on-site, every meal is designed around endurance fueling, recovery, and the physiology of multi-day output.
- Science-backed education: Led by coach Danny, evening workshops will cover important knowledge that every trail runner should know & apply to their training.
- Trail Running: Coach-led runs every day, 8–20 miles depending on the route option you choose.
Who this is for
This retreat is built for intermediate to advanced trail runners who want more than mileage out of a weekend in the mountains.
You’re comfortable running 8–20 miles on technical terrain. You’ve thought about your nutrition, even if you haven’t dialed it in. You’ve wondered what a real running performance looks like. You want to spend a weekend learning alongside people who think the same way.
